Urotsukidoji: Legend of the Overfiend (超神伝説うろつき童子 未来篇) is an adult anime OVA series that was originally released in Japan from 1987 to 1989, based on an original manga series by Toshio Maeda. Later in 1989, the three episodes were edited into a theatrical movie format that eliminated some of the hardcore sexual content while adding other scenes to fill out the runtime. This "movie cut" was what was dubbed into English by Central Park Media in 1992 and released on VHS in 1993, being the first title under the company's Anime 18 label; a label made exclusively for adult oriented content. The original OVA formats of Legend of the Overfiend and its sequel series Urotsukidoji II: Legend of the Demon Womb were later given an uncut subbed-only release as Urotsukidoji: The Perfect Collection in 1994. Both versions got a DVD release in 2001 and 2003 respectively.
Alongside its sequel series, Legend of the Overfiend is what largely introduced American audiences to the hentai genre and the series quickly gained notoriety as "the most horrific animated feature of all time" upon international exposure.
The first series focuses on Amano Jyaku, a wandering man-beast who is searching the human world for the Chōjin (Overfiend), a god beyond all gods prophesied to unite said world, alongside the man-beast world and the demon world, together in everlasting peace and prosperity. Amano ultimately finds what he believes to be the Chōjin sealed in the body of a lecherous college student named Tatsuo Nagumo, but things quickly escalate beyond all control once the latter's powers awaken and the Chōjin's coming may in fact be a harbinger of doom for the three realms instead of their salvation.

Trivia[]
- According to Bill Timoney, voice of Nagumo and Niki, most if not all the English cast members for Legend of the Overfiend and Legend of the Demon Womb used pseudonyms (as is common for hentai titles) due to their total aversion to the films' graphic material. The only exceptions were Ron Kalish, who was mainly a post-production coordinator on the project, and Greg Puertolas:
- Bill Timoney -> Danny Bush (Nagumo) and Randy Woodcock (Niki)
- Susan Meadows -> Rebel Joy
- Christopher Nicholas Yates -> Christopher Courage (also used for Greg Wolfe in Legend of the Demon Womb)
- Stacie Lynn Renna -> Lucy Morales
- Sondra James -> Rose Palmer
- Rome Elliot -> Bick Balse
- Gary Marlon Suson -> Jurgen Offen
- Simone Grant -> Barbie O'Buoy
- Brian O'Neill -> Herb Hummel
- Kathleen McNenny -> Kathleen McNearney
- Nicole D'Incecco -> Camille Way-Pene
