light novels written by Nagaru Tanigawa and illustrated by Noizi Ito. It was produced by Kyoto Animation and directed by Tetsuya Ishihara. The original run contained 14 episodes and was aired between April 2 and July 2, 2006. The second season aired between April 3, 2009 and October 9, 2009.

The English adaption of the anime is licensed by Bandai Entertainment.
