Black Butler (黒執事) is a 2008 Japanese animated series based on the Black Butler manga written and illustrated by Yana Toboso. The series was directed by Toshiya Shinohara and produced by A-1 Pictures. It started it's run on October 2, 2008 on Chubu-Nippon Broadcasting and Mainichi Broadcasting System and ended it's run on March 26, 2009.
Three pieces of theme music were used. The opening song was "Monochrome no Kiss" (written as Monochrome Kiss) by SID. The first closing was "I'm Alive!" by American singer Rebecca Hollcraft (Becca) and the second closing was "Lacrimosa" by Kalafina.
